RETREAT NIGHT // Saturday November 20th - In studio - Shanti Bee Holistic and Wellbeing Centre (Online option also available)

The last ‘Mini Retreat Night’ of the year! We will gather one more time for 2021 at what I think is perhaps the perfect time to recharge and replenish our own energy. To fill up our own energetic cup to the point in which it can spill over onto our metaphorical saucer. We can therefor serve others from that over spill rather than draining our own cup to do so, as can so easily happen at this very beautiful and magical but also potentially chaotic and pressure filled time of year.

We can perhaps begin to set our end of year intentions, look back over the previous 12 months to honour them, take stock of them and then be ready to let them go as we move through the final 6 weeks of the year. It’s a little cliche but it really is a perfect time to consider what you might like to leave in 2021 and what you want to carry forward with you into 2022, no pressure, no judgement just if things naturally come to mind we give them the space and time they need to be seen and heard.

We will take two hours of Yin and Restorative Yoga, Guided Meditations and inward journeying accompanied by (as ever) a beautiful and specifically curated soundscape.

We use our practise to help us to quieten the mind, to relax and tune into the body; through doing this we find ourselves connected and drawn into something deeper. It is within those deeper states that we can work through things that linger in our subconscious mind, or perhaps things we have stored deep within the recesses of our body. The things we perhaps don’t have the space for within our day to day but when we give them the time to come up and to be reprocessed we can leave our practise feeling a whole lot lighter. We don’t necessarily have to understand this process, at times it can feel very much beyond comprehension, what we do here at our retreat nights is simply to surrender to the process. Surrendering to the process, to the not totally knowing or understanding with our logical mind but being able to allow the body, the subconscious and the inner space to do the work on our behalf. Again this will leave us feeling so much lighter energetically, floating of our mats and home to bed!

As always I like to share these breakdowns of what reactions certain brainwave states are creating within your being because I think they sum up so so well the general feeling of these evenings…

Alpha brainwaves are dominant during quietly flowing thoughts, and in some meditative states. Alpha is 'the power of now', being here, in the present. Alpha is the resting state for the brain. Alpha waves aid overall mental coordination, calmness, alertness, mind/body integration and learning.

Theta brainwaves occur most often in sleep but are also dominant in deep meditation. Theta is our gateway to learning, memory, and intuition. In theta, our senses are withdrawn from the external world and focused on signals originating from within.

This event will take place at Shanti Bee Yoga Studio in Heaton. It is an in person event but an online option is available for anyone too far to travel or who just prefers to cosy up at home.
